The Perfect Way to Start Your Day
The hardest part about waking up in the morning is actually getting moving. What a hassle! I am sure we all have had trouble getting our bodies started in the morning, especially during these winter months. But fear not! Here are some helpful ways to start your day, and get your body AND your brain cooking!
Water is by the far the #1 thing you can do to get your body started when you first wake up! After sleeping all through the night, your body becomes slightly dehydrated. Drinking a glass of water when you first wake up will get your organs started and help to start hydrating your body for the busy day ahead! So before you even THINK about grabbing your morning caffeine fix, drink some water first!
I am 100% not telling you to get into heavy lifting as soon as you wake up- BUT, what is super helpful for your body is following a short and light exercise regime in the morning time. You could even just start your day with some light stretching- anything to get the juices flowing! But what I have found to be super beneficial is to not only stretch, but to also do some easy and quick body weight exercises. Spending about 10 minutes in the morning warming up your muscles will help your body in the long run!
I know this seems like something most people would do but in fact, a lot of people neglect to eat a good breakfast! Breakfast is definitely the most important meal of the day. It gets your body started, it helps to wake you up, and it gives you energy. So you need to be sure you’re eating foods that will do all those things! Even if you do not have time to prepare a full breakfast, it is quite easy to make something quick to get your body moving. Here are some suggestions for good and easy breakfasts to start your morning with: smoothies, oatmeal, hard boiled eggs, or greek yogurt!
